Nexus Backs Circle's Push to Make India's Used Goods Market Trustworthy and Scalable

Indian startup Circle has raised Rs 25 crore in a seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners to grow its managed marketplace for pre-owned goods.

The Bengaluru-based company handles verification, payments, and logistics so buyers and sellers avoid the usual headaches of trust and convenience.

Why Trust and Speed Matter in Recommerce

Circle's model lets individuals sell items like phones, furniture, and sneakers without the platform holding inventory.

Buyers receive verified products plus a three-day guarantee, which helps close deals faster than typical classified sites.

In its first year the startup facilitated around Rs 25 crore in sales and reached over one million visitors with 100,000 listings in Bengaluru alone.

Founders Chirag Kataruka and Ankit Misra started the company in 2025 after spotting persistent friction in India's large but fragmented used-goods sector.

Expansion Plans and Longer-Term Outlook

Proceeds will fund city-by-city growth, AI tools for pricing and discovery, and more Trust Hubs for verification and fulfillment.

Over the next 12 months operators should watch whether Circle can maintain quality while scaling logistics beyond one market.

Success here could lower barriers for new entrants in recommerce while pressuring pure classified platforms to add similar safeguards.

Existing backers Titan Capital and Myntra co-founder Raveen Sastry joined the round, along with angel investor Ajith Pai of Delhivery.

The funding signals rising investor interest in infrastructure that makes second-hand commerce reliable at scale.
