Software Engineer - Data (Remote)

We are looking for an experienced data engineer/backend engineer to help build new financial products and maintain and extend existing ones. At Oxygen, you will be involved in both the product vision and execution. If you enjoy working in highly collaborative and fast-paced environment this is the job for you.

This role require you to:

• Be flexible and wear multiple hats, work on multiple projects in parallel.
• Solve ambiguous and complex problems.
• Clarify technical requirements and provide accurate estimates.
• Drive and set a high bar for data quality, data pipelines, data reporting and dashboards.
• Collaborate and communicate well with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

For this role, you will

• Spend 60% time on data engineer work and 40% time on backend development work.
• Own, build and continuously improve Oxygen data infrastructure. Become an expert on all aspects of data and analytical infrastructure at Oxygen.
• Own, build and manage scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transferring data between our business users and vendors.
• Apply quality measures to ensure data governance and accuracy.
• Manage analytical reporting and dashboards for internal business users as well as external partners. Work with stakeholders and cross functional partners to identify business problems, define key metrics and build reporting to monitor and measure performance along those metrics.
• Manage a framework for Machine Learning model lifecycle management.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field.
• 4+ years of experience in relevant field.
• Strong experience in Python for both analytics and server-side software development.
• Experience and deep knowledge of AWS technologies at scale in a production environment.
• Experienced with CI/CD processes.
• Proficient in SQL queries and with data warehousing concepts on Redshift.
• Experience in setting up data pipelines with data processing frameworks and orchestrations tools such as Airflow.
• Experience in building/operating/maintaining fault tolerant and scalable data processing integrations using AWS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong ownership and responsibilities
• Able to effectively communicate and work remotely with cross regions, cross cultural, and geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent.
• Good knowledge and experience in Java and Javascript.
• Prior startup and FinTech experience preferred, but not required.
• Passion for democratizing data throughout the company and communicating insights to a broad audience with varying levels of technical expertise.
