This role focuses on ensuring that our users (mostly software developers) have the best possible developer-experience using the Karate IntelliJ plugin.
You will join a growing team of product managers, product engineers, customer success and digital marketing based across the globe. You’ll grow professionally and have fun with your colleagues; we like to invest in our team with on boarding plans, career advancement opportunities, and mentorship.
On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with the CTO. You will interact frequently and conduct research with our customers. You will mix strategic and high-level work with creating detailed designs. You will be working with the self-serve team, where you’ll have the chance to run experiments, solve complex interaction issues, and create better integration experiences. You can count on fast feedback cycles: we run company-wide feedback sessions weekly – your ideas will be put into users’ hands very quickly.
Who are we looking for?
• You are comfortable working in a remote-first company; communication is key. For us, working together means being collaborative, friendly, kind and respectful. We operate by consensus; you can contribute to a discussion but then commit to the team decision.
• You are required to have a strong background in Java and at least 5 years of experience with it.
• Experience with IntelliJ plugin development is desired. Developing on the IntelliJ Platform requires an understanding of multiple Java and Kotlin APIs, exploring code samples and reading API documentation - so a learning and research mindset is key.
• Experience with Kotlin is desired, but for the right candidate - this can be easily picked up on the job.
• You are expected to directly interact with end-users, study their feedback, define the product roadmap, and then perform the implementation and release. Experience with test-automation especially for REST APIs is good to have.
• Experience with Git and GitHub is preferred, and a history of open-source commits or contributions is an advantage.
